Well no, not really, I don’t feel like we need it, but it feels like it from the conversations I’m hearing with my parents.

Kinja'd!!!

See, for some freak circumstance, our rent payments weren’t getting through for four months , so unless we paid now we’re about to be evicted from the house. Tough news to hear, to be sure, but nothing we can’t handle. Still it is a major problem, as the one house that we bought in the province is itself being rented out, and it is quite tricky to find a new place to stay in that’s cheaper while still being more or less the same size.

Kinja'd!!!

This made me think of my college transfer, and I decided to lighten their load by heading to my second option, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Going to a Top 4 university will be far too much for them to take. Either way, this is one hell of a setback.

I only need one half the size, the autozam is much smaller!

These are dumb. I’ve been in one and they aren’t as nice as other premium class a motorhomes. The floor is obviously higher up than the standard version with normal luggage in the bottom portion

You you would be significantly better off just getting A Nice Class A motorhome and then pulling a lightweight enclosed trailer with your car in that. I've talked to people at parks who have pulled in excess of 6,000 pounds with their class A home.

Not getting through?  What the heck?

My apartment in Houston constantly had problems with their auto-pay not working, though they usually sent a late notice (those notices went out on the same day it was supposed to hit my account, so there was no way to know sooner). They finally got it working for a long stretch, but then after a year or two it failed again and they actually sent an eviction notice telling me I needed to be out in two days (pretty sure that’s not legal or in keeping with the lease) . Not what I wanted to come home to, and definitely factored in to my decision not to renew.

Apparently the person my aunt sends to pay for the rent failed spectacularly at the job, so the bill went to Php20k (about US$385) over four months. Considering our rent is Php5 k (US$96 ), it will be suspiciousto them as to why they’re not getting money.

Wait, you seriously got the idea that we’re buying an RV? No, we’re not, that’s just a visual aid.

So either the money was debited or it wasn’t. If it was, your parents actually paid and the landlord (or bank) screwed up. If not, you still have the money and can pay it all now. Normally if you can provide proof that the bank screwed up, they’ll make it right, including any late fees from the landlord.

But I’m sure there’s more to story. You don’t just end up 4 months late without a lot of phone calls and hand-wringing along the way.

I’m a landlord and my tenants are awesome. But if for some reason the rent check isn’t ready on time, I always politely let them know (and waive any late fees, honestly -- not worth the bad blood)

This doesn’t feel like it should be your problem....

To be fair,I don’t really know the full story (and if I ask them, they’d rather say “don’t worry about it”, even if I’m 21 and I have to be), but I say thank you for this. You just gave me valuable information.

In a couple of years I want to move into an Arctic Fox 29-5t. About 34 ft long, but has extra space in case I need to get a remote job. $46k about 2-3 years old. Need a 3500 to tow it though, so I am thinking of buying a truck new, then selling after two years. Better than depreciation on a motor home , less chance of breakdown, fingers crossed depreciation is less than I pay in property taxes.

Get a Honda City Turbo II instead.

Kinja'd!!!

It comes with a moped too so you got every base covered.

I didn't think you were getting an RV. I was just pointing out how silly the car hiding RV's are.

It kind of is, though, not the least because we have a bedridden aunt, but also because, much as it is OK with me to live on my own in a dorm or hole up with a roomm ate, it is still a bit better to have a place to come home to where the whole family is there. Plus, I’ve lived in this particular house for all my life, so you can imagine how much the sentimentality plays into my worries—in a way, this was my house too . I know every bit of this place with great intimacy, and I don’t want to move out of here because we’re getting punted off.

Sorry, I meant the part about someone else screwing up the rent.  Accountability is still a thing.

Oh.

Anyway, whole thing does seem entirely impractical, but then, the rich don’t always think pragmatically, do they? Besides, if you already have a motorhome, why would you need a car in it?

Cass c and class a folks tow a car almost every time they go somewhere. Their home ends up hooked up in such a way that they otherwise couldn’t go anywhere once they got to the site.

They either flat tow, 2 wheel up tow, or they use a flat bed type tow. Just depends on what they’re bringing.

I heavily debated between a travel trailer and a class c with a tow behind and we ultimately went with the travel trailer. It helped that my fiance apparently loves trucks and fell in love with the truck we bought to tow the travel trailer.

These ARE dumb. Seems like too many compromises and not enough upsides. Flat tow, trailer tow, do anything other than try to cram a too-small car into a place it doesn’t belong. Do this instead :-D

Wow. That thing is a monster!

Ive been in a class a that had an international tractor for its front and it was insane. It was larger than any apartment I had before the house. I thought 5th wheels were big but that thing was ridiculous.
